Marovo Lagoon is one of the most unforgettable regions of the South Pacific. Home to amazing diving and some very skilled carvers, it is the largest double fringed lagoon in the world and a real highlight.
Located at the heart of the Solomon Islands, Marovo Lagoon is home to some of the most beautiful scenery and amazing diving in the country. It is the largest double fringed lagoon in the world with a double barrier reef surrounding the extinct volcanoes of the main central islands.
Marovo Lagoon has many excellent dive sites and Marovo Lagoon diving is very varied with beautiful coral reefs, amazing light filled cave systems, huge fan covered walls, World War Two wrecks and passages filled with life. It is even possible to hear Karachi Volcano booming in the distance on some dive sites.

Mbulo Canyons with it’s amazing corals and photogenic caves, Kicha with more amazing coral, schooling jacks, bumphead parrotfish, barracuda and batfish and the scenic Wickham Island are all guest favourites.
As well as the diving, Marovo Lagoon is also famous for its skilled carvers. These craftspeople use local woods and stone to hand make beautiful hand made carvings of all sizes, often inlaid with shells and other decorations. Bilikiki’s guests are lucky enough to stop off at a number of these villages on our trips and have the opportunity to buy one of the most unique souvenirs imaginable.
