Bilikiki spent the last 10 days diving and exploring the Solomon Islands in glorious weather conditions with 17 guests from the United States, Australia, New Zealand, the Solomons and France.
Once again the diving was absolutely amazing with everything from big to small. On quite a number of dives we were accompanied by lots of curious grey reef sharks, but we also saw mobula rays, marbled stingray, silvertip sharks, oceanic blacktip sharks, whitetip and blacktip reef sharks, a huge school of chevron barracudas, bumphead parrot fish, and green and hawksbill turtles. All while clouds of fusiliers almost "rained" down on us - absolutely incredible!
For the macro lovers there were plenty of rewarding sightings too, ranging from dwarf cuttlefish to flashlight fish, paddlefin cardinals, soft coral crabs, different nudibranchs and sea slugs to sea hares and thor "sexy" shrimps, to name only a few. In Mary Island and in Marovo Lagoon we were once again diving to the soundtrack of the underwater volcano, Kavachi, something new to most of our guests! Our dives in Kicha were simply out of this world, some people even had tears in their eyes after this experience of pure natural beauty!
The highlights under water just kept coming, but topside our guests also enjoyed the floating canoe markets with fruit and vegetables around the boat and, of course, the spectacular carving markets in Marovo Lagoon, where a number of souvenirs were purchased.
To say it simply, we had a brilliant trip and everyone had a
wonderful time
, including our repeat guests! Thank you all for joining us and for making this a very memorable trip! And of course our heartfelt thanks go to our amazing crew, who make it happen every time!
Tagio tumas, until the next time
