Bilikiki has returned from a 14 day trip with the Backscatter/Under Exposures photo group, regulars of ours on Bilikiki!
We started our diving trip in the Russell Islands with the gorgeous elephant ear sponges at Ta Island. Several dives in the Russells followed at the Wreck of the Ann, Koemurun Reef, White Beach, Rainbow Reef and Karumolun Point, amongst others. We saw grey reef sharks, eagle rays, cuttlefish, disco clams, soft coral crabs, orangutan crabs and many other things!
We stopped at Mborokua (Mary) Island for a day and we met again with the baby grey reef shark school, some big eye jacks and barracudas! At night time, a white tip reef shark went hunting around with our night divers and lobsters were all over the bay!
We follow our journey into the Marovo Lagoon where we dove Kokoana and Lumalihe Passages, the incredible Kicha and the stunning Mbulo Caves. We enjoyed Kicha and Mbulo so much that we decided to dive their beautiful reefs for two days! We also did carving markets and fresh fruit and vegetable markets and our guests enjoyed amazing sunsets while having afternoon snacks.
On our way back, we stopped at Karumolun for a village visit. The traditional dancing, singing and panpipe show was a pure delight! Together with diving their beautiful reefs, the island of Karumolun offered us another day in paradise!
We spent two days in the now called “Magic" Maravaghi Bay! While some of our guests got to dive Devil's Highway up to three times (all with lots of manta ray sightseeings!) others enjoyed the many options the bay offered for photography and video. With an open pool for two days at the bay, everyone was super happy!
And to end our trip, we headed to Guadalcanal where we dove two Japanese wrecks, Hirokawa Maru and Kinugawa Maru, at Boneghi Beach. Another nice dive into history before our guests headed back home! We would like to thank Under Exposures for these two weeks of great fun and laughter. We wish you safe travels and look forward to having you back onboard next year!
We would also like to thank our Incredible Crew for all their hard work, help and attention. Without them Bilikiki would not be what it is!
Happy Bubbles! Pato and Fernando
