Bilikiki is back to Honiara after another 10 day trip. Diving with Steve was our big group onboard but we also had Bilikiki regular Bruce, who will be staying with us for the next trip too! Being back after nearly six months felt really good and even if the seas and weather were a bit challenging some days, we managed to have an amazing trip.
We covered our usual route and were very lucky with the marine life we encountered. The Russell Islands brought into our trip massive elephant ear sponges, huge gorgonians sea fans and of course all its coral gardens... and what a lovely surprise when Andrew found us a beautiful robust ghostpipe fish! Mary Island was vibrating with Kavachi's volcanic soundtrack and its schools of barracudas and big eye jacks. We even got the visit of an oceanic manta ray on two dives!
The Western Province treated us well too, with the village visits and the carving markets on top of great dives. The guests especially loved Mbulo Caves, which was magical with the sun shinning its rays through the water. We got some nice macro too: a tiny seahorse at Wickham Island, persian carpet flatworms, Denise pygmy seahorses and much more!
And the Floridas treated us even better, with a school of mobula rays at Maravaghi, a beautiful eagle ray at Petrol Point, different sharks and more critters for the macro lovers (nudis, pygmy pipehorse, cuttlefish, sea horses, soft coral crabs, spearing and peacock mantis shrimps and many others).
We would like to thank our guests for joining us on this trip, we wish you safe travels back home and hope we'll see you again soon.
We would also like to thank our fabulous crew for all their hard work and their kindness.
See you all soon, and until then, Happy bubbles!
