Another 10 days have passed and Bilikiki has returned back to Honiara with 18 guests from the USA, the Philippines and the UK onboard. New friendships were quickly made and our divers enjoyed the variety of dives during the trip, from the reefs to the walls to the WW2 wrecks (especially the dump site of White Beach).
Some of the diving highlights included Kicha which had too many fish to mention, the huge school of chevron barracudas at Mary Island and a stunning dive at Wickham Island with loads of sharks - all to the impressive soundtrack of the rumbling Kavachi volcano. Absolutely amazing!! The night dives were very popular too and the divers were rewarded with many interesting creatures like flashlight fish, paddlefin cardinals and dwarf cuttlefish, amongst many others. Petrol Point in the Floridas was another memorable dive with huge bumphead parrotfish, sharks, barracudas and eagle rays. The highlights just kept coming and there were too many to mention, there were a lot of smiling faces on the dive deck after every dive!
The village visit in Karumolun in the Russell Islands, the floating canoe markets loaded with fresh fruit and vegetables and the carving markets in Marovo Lagoon offered a very welcome glimpse into the local culture and a chance to interact with the locals.
We would like to thank all our guests for coming to dive and visit the Solomon Islands with us, it was great fun to have you onboard and hopefully we will see you again in the future! Your energy was infectious and made every day a pure pleasure!
And of course our heartfelt thanks go out to the hard working Bilikiki crew that make these trips happen every time! They are constantly giving their best - Tagio tumas!
