Bilikiki has returned from another 11 day diving trip, on board we had guests from the UK, France, Israel, Mexico and the USA. We were very happy to see the familiar faces of Mark Ottoson and Richard Litsch, who have come to dive with Bilikiki several times now. It was another fantastic trip! We all enjoyed fine weather conditions and great encounters with marine life! We can truly say that every trip has surprises for us and the manta ray encounters at Mary Island and Rainbow Reef were very nice ones!
During this trip we took our guests to dive with huge schools of barracudas, schools of big eye jacks, sharks (this trip we even got nurse sharks!), Napoleon wrasse, friendly spadefish, eagle rays and mobula rays! We got to show everyone the nine different species of anemone fish we have in the Solomon Islands, the saddleback being the most "interactive one”, always chasing divers away with much energy!
We saw several of the well camouflaged crocodile fish, tiny flatworms and several species of nudis. We were lucky again to find ornate, robust and halimeda ghost pipe fish, pygmy seahorses, pygmy pipehorses, seahorses and plenty of soft coral and orangutan crabs! On top of all that, the magnificent coral reefs of the Solomon Islands were once again a delight for our guests... it is breathtaking to dive in such colourful and healthy coral gardens full of anthias and damsel fish! What made some dives even more breathtaking was to hear the rumbling of Kavachi volcano in the back ground, sooooo loud! Our guests couldn't believe it!
James Williams and Richard Litsch had their birthdays during this trip, our three chefs made sure they had amazing birthday cakes that we all enjoyed! :) The guests onboard also loved the experience of the carving markets and everyone found something to take back home! The floating markets were also very entertaining for everyone, they loved to see how we get our fresh veggies. We are very grateful to our guests for all their donations to the locals at the village visits and floating markets.
Thank you everyone for making this trip another great one! We wish you safe travels back home and hope to dive with you again soon! A huge thank you to our crew for their continuous hard work, they take such good care of us and make this whole Bilikiki experience a special one!
Happy Bubbles
